Long River Sessions isn’t for solo acts or stripped-down duos—it’s strictly for full bands, trios and above. Because some stories need more than one voice, and some sounds need more than two hands. This is Houston’s live music scene captured in its most intentional form: four songs, one set, and the story of a band told between every track. Filmed with a professional crew, lit like a stage should be, and edited without the fluff. Whether it’s jazz, soul, punk, psych, or something that doesn’t need a label, Long River Sessions gives space for the music to breathe—and for the artists to speak. Masaya handles the visuals (usually without breaking anything), Rico keeps the board tight, Bleu keeps the vibe grounded, and I’m just here to write the copy. Sessions premiere Fridays at 1 PM on YouTube, right after airing at 12:30 PM on The Houston Collective Radio. And if the set comes in clean—no profanity—there’s a high chance it’ll also run on KPFT 90.1 FM during our weekly Tuesday 3 AM reruns.
